Sick Scatter Image

For a paper manufacturer, an inspection was implemented to perform presence detection inside the packaging.

In this process, light is coupled into the material using a laser, and scatter images are captured via the Sick Ranger. It’s a dual inspection, meaning both sides of the conveyor are inspected simultaneously.

The positioning within the packaging is measured in real-time, with output occurring within 1 meter behind the product.

At the unit on the opposite side of the conveyor, the cover is closed. Note the unique adjustment mechanism of the laser, which allows for precise positioning.

The optics are kept clean by the air nozzle at the front of the housing.
